Plies Is Suing Multiple Rappers For Re-Using His Beat

Florida Rapper Plies has sued GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B for allegedly stealing the beat for their hit song “Wanna Be.”

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the Florida native is claiming his 2008 track “Me & My Goons” has been infringed upon — first by Soulja Boy in 2010 with “Pretty Boy Swag” and then by the trio of female rappers with their 2024 collaboration.

The specific point of contention is the use of what Plies is terming an “infrared countdown beat” used by both Soulja and years later Glo, Meg and Cardi (the latter of whom appears on the remix of “Wanna Be”).

Megan’s Hot Girl Productions is also named as a defendant, along with Collipark Productions, Universal Music Group, Yo Gotti‘s Collective Music Group and Interscope Records.
